Advocating for South Carolina Women...
Thanks to this funding, over 16,000 women will be screened each year, thereby doubling the size of the program. In conjunction with this new funding, the Best Chance Network has lowered the eligibility age to 40 (down from 47), making the program consistent with national screening guidelines and expanding access to the women of South Carolina.
Senator Thomas Alexander addresses the crowd.
Join us at the Race again this year as we advocate for the women of South Carolina for better access to life-saving screenings and better treatment to save lives!
I Vote for the Cure Tent. Mary Lynn Faunda Donovan, Executive Director, advocates for improved access to screening.

I AM THE CURE. Program
During the Survivor Ceremony last year, we applauded our state legislators for allocating on July 1, 2008 the first ever state funding of $2 million for the Best Chance Network. Thanks to our continued advocacy efforts, another $2 million has been included in the new state budget starting July 1, 2009. This state program provides uninsured, low-income women with free breast and cervical cancer screenings.
